Maryeve Dufault Earns a Top 20 After Overcoming Engine Trouble

(Kansas City, Kansas - October 21, 2012) – The newly repaved Kansas Speedway made for some fast laps for the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards. For Maryeve Dufault, driving the No. 04 Valvoline NextGen Motor Oil Dodge for Carter 2 Motorsports, C2M, unfortunate engine issues overshadowed her drama free race.

Competing in her third start for C2M, Dufault sported new colors showcasing her latest partnership with Valvoline NextGen Motor Oil. With her new green and white paint scheme, and pink bumper in support Breast Cancer Awareness month, the female driver had high hopes for the ARCA season finale.

“I had higher hopes for this weekend but we were lacking on speed from when we unloaded,” said Dufault, who previously raced for the team at Salem Speedway where she consistently ran in the top 10. “We changed the steering box, which was a big help in the morning but the engine was just starving for speed.”

At a track that reached speeds at 184 mph, the 1.5-mile tri-oval is not a track that a team can afford to be down on speed. The Canadian native had to work her way up through the field after qualifying mid-pack. While the competitive 40-car field proved to be a challenge, Dufault managed to gain seven spots on her starting spot to finish The Kansas Lottery 98.9 in 19th place respectively.

“Overall the team worked really hard and did great pit stops,” said Dufault. “I had my eyes on a top 10 but we brought the car back in one piece at a track that can bite quickly with the new asphalt and high speeds. It was definitely a fun and fast track to race on.”

Owner Roger Carter was very pleased with the teams rebound. “Maryeve had a solid run despite some motor issues. She gave a 100 percent throughout the whole day,” said Carter, “I can’t thank everyone enough for not giving up and making the most out of the situation. We were glad to have such a respectable company such as Valvoline NextGen Motor Oil on our car.”
